From the Pastor's Desk....

Dear Friends,
Sunday begins the Advent season. Advent means ‘coming’—the coming of the Christ child. The fact that Christmas is coming is no news flash. The ads for Black Friday are everywhere, the decorations have been in stores since Halloween, the music is even starting on the radio….we are all getting ready for…..something Big coming. But for many of us that ‘something Big’ is a lot more than just the Christ child. It’s our own celebrations coming, relatives coming (or not coming), hopes and expectations coming, stress coming—all rolled up in a package called ‘Christmas’.
And somewhere in the arrival of everything that comes to you on Christmas, somewhere amidst all the celebrations, relatives, hopes, dreams, stress, laughter and tears, is a God who wants to bring you the very things you’ve been longing for more than anything else. Somewhere in the middle of all the chaos and expectations for a perfect Christmas, is a Savior who wants to offer you something far more lasting than a ‘Norman Rockwell’ moment with fam- ily. May we all hear that arrival this Christmas, may we all accept that invitation to something very Big.
See you Sunday,
Natalie
