grow & serve

Ways to Serve

Our MINISTRIES are how we demonstrate our faith and values. We value a passion for serving our members, neighbors, and community. There are many opportunities to serve – from helping feed the homeless, to assisting in specific church ministries.

Some of the opportunities to serve include:
– Outreach – greeter, usher
– Buildings and Grounds – mowing team member
– Finance – money counter, treasurer
– Deacons – shepherd

Worship

We value a meaningful worship service that blends traditional and contemporary elements. Through music, liturgy, and rituals, we enhance our worship experience, proclaim the gospel, glorify God, and magnify the name of our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ.

Our Children and Youth are part of the worship service, by serving as readers, and acolytes, and providing special music.

It is important to us that everyone has an opportunity to worship, even if they are unable to do so in person. We live-stream our worship service on our YouTube channel. Anyone can watch live or go back and watch at their convenience.

We hold special services for Easter and the Advent Season. We also have a Christmas Eve candlelight service.

Fellowship

Our Fellowship Committee is responsible for nurturing the congregation through meaningful fellowship experiences. The special activities are a way for our members to grow together in Christian love, which allows the congregation to grow closer as a body of Christ.

Some of the activities they plan include:
– Bunco and Bingo to support missions
– Chili Supper & Musical Evening
– Thanksgiving Potluck Dinner
– Family Advent Workshop
– Adult Christmas Party

Our ‘Over 60’ Group gathers at a local restaurant once a month for a time of lunch and fellowship.

Christian Education

We provide all ages a place to learn about Christ’s love and biblical truths.

Children & Youth
Just as a responsible parent makes certain that their child’s physical and educational needs are met, we understand our role to assist parents with providing their spiritual needs by helping build a biblical foundation.

Children and Youth are a central part of our church family. They are always welcome in our worship services, and many of them serve as Acolytes, musicians, and Liturgists.

The Children & Youth meet on Wednesday evenings at 6:00 p.m.

Adults
We provide various opportunities for adults to cultivate their faith, gather in the community, and invest in others.
– Sunday School – Sundays at 9:30 a.m.
– Adult Bible Study – Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m.

Missions

We partner with ministries that care for our community – because we care. Our Missions ministry exists to equip people to demonstrate and shine the love of Jesus to a broken, hurting community.

Food Blessing Box
We have and maintain a small food pantry with non-perishable foods, toilet paper, and diapers in our church parking lot. It’s a ‘take what you need, leave what you can’ local mission!

Meals on Wheels
This is a much-needed service of delivering hot meals to needy members of the community. They are always looking for more drivers, funding, and support for their annual programs.

Owasso Community Resources, Inc. (OCR) serves the community with a variety of services and special projects including:

Utility Assistance
Food Pantry
Counseling for Adults

They strive to solve or refer area residents to services that can meet their specific needs.

Some of our members, including our own Pastor volunteer at the facility by helping gather and hand out food to the hundreds of people who come through the line daily.

We support OCR by participating in their annual programs such as Thanksgiving Baskets, and The Christmas Giving Tree, and we partner with them and The Owasso Ministerial Alliance to help provide rental assistance to needy families.

Emergency Infant Services
This wonderful organization offers assistance with basic need items to children 5 years old and under whose families are facing financial and personal challenges. We collect coin donations throughout the year. In December, we collect items to donate.
